Our parent workshops help you to focus on what is best for your child. Separation and divorce can be a difficult time for both parents and children. Many emotions are triggered. Our parent workshops are designed to help parents during this period of change. Parents learn tips and strategies for parenting across two homes and how to minimize the negative effects of separation on their child. Book a workshop below.
Parent Workshops are held at our CMG Foundation office. CMG may cancel classes for insufficient registration and issue you a full refund.
Payments are due at the time of registration.This class is free for parties that have an active case in the juvenile courts. Please call our office to confirm that you are qualified for the free class, and to register.
PLEASE NOTE: It is CMG Policy to not include Mom and Dad in the same class.
United Parents, Separate Homes
This 4-hour workshop is not a judgment on your parenting skills. It is designed for parents who do not live together. The goal is to help parents understand the effects of separation on children and how to focus on the best interests of their children. The workshop gives tips on how to better parent across two separate homes and overcome the negative effects of separation on children. It also talks about parenting skills and financial responsibilities. This workshop meets the Supreme Court of Virginia’s parent education requirements.
This workshop may be available at no cost under grant funding if you meet certain requirements. Please contact us to learn more.

Communication Matters is a new workshop for parents with an open child support case. The goal is to help parents communicate better in order to raise their child together. The 4-hour workshop is separated into moms and dads only.
